Flower Point Area

Overview:

This new area was formerly just the trees off the north side of Flower Point and Lodi.  Over the summers of 2013 and 2014, trails were cut and a lift installed.  Clearly, the trees are still skiable, but they are cut up by trails and the new "pieces" still need to have names as far as I know.

Although the trails shown in the first map are all considered the Flower Point area, the area is NOT well integrated with the rest of the ski area or even as a whole unto itself.  Whiskey Spring, for instance, is not accessible from the Flower Point lift.  The only way to get to that trail is by taking the Bigfoot T-Bar, which is not open every day, or cutting through the trees from Big Creek or Goat Haunt.  The connection to the rest of the area was significantly improved, however, beginning with the 2016-17 season by two new cuts through the tree farms to facilitate moving between the Flower Point lift area and Chair 7.

Finally, the "new" lift is decidedly old.  Speed is not on the list of attributes.  There is a difficult-to-reach safety bar and NO foot rest.  The foot rest is worth mentioning because the padding of the seat is practically non-existent and Sibhusky's feet are always asleep at the top.  The surface can be quite slick as well, so be careful if there is snow or ice on it if you are with young children.
