Upper Langley

Clicking on the photos enlarges them.  Photos are taken as you come down the hill.  They have been taken over several years, so conditions shown will vary depending on what was happening the day the particular photo was taken.  Photos looking back up the hill will be described as such.

Overview

  • Rated:
  • Type of trail:  Occasionally groomed steep run off of Inspiration.
  • Accessed from Inspiration, on skier's right across from Elephant's Graveyard at the end of the ridge.
  • Upper Langley forks about two thirds of the way down.  The right hand fork is steeper and groomed less than the left fork.  However, the left fork has a really pronounced double fall line.  Both lead to a cat track across the hill.  You can either continue down Langley, cut over to Powder Trap and Heep Steep (right fork) or go over to Friends of Langley and Inspiration (left fork).

Approaching Upper Langley from Inspiration:

Nice inversion day.

Descending the trail:

The left fork takes you to Inspiration, but you can still go right at the end of it and get to Powder Trap or Heep Steep.  Same with the right fork, you can still head left and get to Inspiration.

Looking back up the left hand fork:

Upper Langley would be along the near "ridge line" in this picture.
