Overview

  • Rated:
  • Type of trail:  Intermediate cruiser.  Groomed daily.  Dicey in the upper area on foggy days.  Many people experience severe vertigo due to the lack of trees and other landmarks as they go past the Ptarmigan Bowl section.  Try to ski close to any trees you can find.
  • Getting off Chair 1, head back over your right shoulder towards the front of the mountain and take the right fork as you leave the lift area.
  • Be aware there are a lot of people just bombing this trail, especially the lower section during weekends and holidays.
  • There are TWO areas on the map designated as "Easiest Way Down" from the Summit.  Toni is listed on the map as an "Easiest Way" down the mountain.  I would argue that during holiday periods, weekends, and days with bad visibility, that the timid skier would be better served using the Russ's Street route.  As stated above, Toni can have some crazy people on it and on foggy days can give you vertigo.  I have heard cases of people downloading from the Summit because they did not understand that neither of these trails is for beginning skiers.
  • Towards the bottom, the trail forks.  One side is the standard way (left), the other heads by Head Wall (right fork) but rejoins the main trail shortly thereafter.
