View approaching East Rim:Gate is in the distance. Watch for cross traffic heading towards Moe-Mentum: |
Views of Whitey's from afar:This picture is taken from the west and shows the three main routes to get to Whitey's. The top route (via The Nose) uses terrain marked double black. The other two routes are only black level. Perhaps the easiest route in fog is the lowest route. From the east. This shows the left exit into the trees, leading onto Russ's Street: |
View along East Rim's cat track if you choose to access Whitey's from the ridge of East RimContinuing straight will bring you down The Nose. Heading right will take you down East Rim Face: |
View coming into Whitey's from the middle route via East Rim Face:Looking up at the Nose from Whitey's. Left arrow shows access from East Rim face and around the cliffs seen in the picture above. Center arrow shows access via The Nose. |
Additional entrances to somewhat lower parts of Whitey's from Moe-MentumThe area crossed before you get over to the clear area of Whitey's is known as "Tighty Whitey's". |
Views on Whitey'sThis cliff is NOT the one in the picture two pictures above. This is the cliff shown further across and down the hill and is seen in the picture higher up taken from the east. This cliff contains East Rim Chutes.: Looking down the hill from the same vantage point as the picture above: Looking down from the part of the hill accessed by the lower entrances off Moe-Mentum (i.e., further down than the above picture): Looking down the hill to the skier's left towards the left hand exit: Looking towards the west, not quite the same vantage point. This may be higher up, but is definitely closer to the right hand exit: Showing the right hand exit onto Moe-Mentum: |
