Elkweed

Clicking on the photos enlarges them.  Photos are taken as you come down the hill.  They have been taken over several years, so conditions shown will vary depending on what was happening the day the particular photo was taken.  Photos looking back up the hill will be described as such.

 

Overview

  • Rated:  
  • Type of trail:  Treed run alongside Hogan's East.  The lines dividing this area from Movieland (closer to Haskill Slide) are murky.  Depending on whether you generally head skier's left or skier's right, you'll end up either in Movieland or back on Hogan's, or dropping onto Russ's Street.  One section has a cliff, so take a buddy the first time who is familiar with the area.  Always take someone with you in this area as the visibility from other trails is limited.  However, since the thinning in summer of 2012, traffic has increased quite a bit.  
  • Accessed from Hogan's East, or a traverse over from Fault 3
